Forest Service Station: Rocky Mountain Research Station

My favorite science experience is when I can prove a scientific hypothesis. I work in a special scientific area called community ecology. Community ecology addresses the relationships of different kinds of communities within an ecosystem, such as plant communities and communities of animals. You have to examine many things at once, and these examinations make the research very complex. When you make a hypothesis about what is happening in a complex system and through careful experimentation are able to show that your hypothesis is correct, it is very satisfying.
