In my research, I switch between science and engineering. I get excited when our detailed, difficult measurements of the water cycle are successful and provide insight to predict how the measurements will change in the future. We measure snowpack, snowmelt, rainfall, shallow groundwater, streamflow, and vegetation water use. I am excited about this research because it provides the foundation to design solutions to the challenges posed by climate change, global population growth, and changing land cover.
